My LEGO Gift to You

This post is for the oodles of moms out there dealing with LEGO crazed kids.

I am one of those moms, and when my little boy asked me to teach a LEGO class at our homeschool co-op, how could I refuse?

My son and I spent a lot of time brainstorming and planning this class TOGETHER, and I wanted to share my plans with you.   I am also THRILLED to be offering one of our favorite resources from the class to you in a giveaway!

A little about the class (then you can download the plans and enter the giveaway!)

Most kids just want to BUILD, so this class is designed to give them plenty of time to FREE BUILD creatively with the same set of bricks each week.

We had a "Speed Build" each week

We played games

We had "Theme Weeks" (like Minifig Week and Interlocking Brick Technique Week)

How lucky I am to have a little boy.  Without him I would never have entered this fun and creative LEGO world!

Lego Class Plans

Everything you just saw is available in this free download.   {You MUST get this if you have a LEGO lover in your house!}

Download my plans to teach a 10 Week LEGO Class.

Both of my boys (8&6) LOVE LEGOs! They like to invent flying contraptions that can become quite creative!!

This is SO great! My youngest, who is 6, considers himself a Lego Master. We are getting ready to head to LegoFest this weekend for his birthday. He builds so many amazing things, it's hard to narrow it down. I would say that one that stands out for me is the combine and grain drill he built with moving parts. When he uses his imagination with his blocks, it is awesome! Thank you for this great resource!

The most creative thing my son has ever built with lego is a rescue helicopter that used a tow truck crank for rescuing. He loves lego!

This is so cool! Bet teaching those classes are fun!
My kiddos have made some cool Lego creations - a large working dump truck and a big Wall*e with movable parts. My boys have been wanting to see that movie, too! :-)

Just lots of cars and trucks...he's still working on creativity =) Well, he's only four, so I'm sure that we will have lots of lego creations around the house soon enough!

Thank you for this Mary! It's AMAZING and fantastic! We're just a couple of years into lego play here, and still trying to build outside of the instructions :D But they get more creative the more their instructions get wrecked, lol. So far we've had a pretty cool campsite and mini town scene with a jail!

I will be teaching a lego class in January, so excited you have given us the information from your class for free.

My son is very instruction oriented and rarely wants to make something that isn't part of the instructions

What a great resource! Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to use this with my son. His entire Christmas list was Legos - and he already has tons.

I think the most creative thing my kids made was a useable fork!

My son is 11 but when he was 10 he attempted to build a battleship out of Lego's. He loves history & particularly about the wars, etc. Love that you did classes with Lego's!!!

I have 3 boys and they all love Legos! I was amazed just last week when my two year old constructed an Airplane with them and it looked like my 8 yr old did it! :) Love the Creativity Legos Bring! :)

My oldest built a wipeout course for his minifigs. So cool!

Both my son and daughter are LEGO heads - they will be so thrilled! I wonder if I couldn't do this for our 4-H homeschool group? Thanks so much for sharing this resource!

We are big Lego fans at our house. The kids build the sets and then destroy and make all kinds of other creative things. Thanks for the ideas!

Thanks for the free Lego lessons! I've used Legos a few times with my 7 year old this year for Math and Geography.

These are wonderful - what a blessing for so many!

Anything my 5 year old builds absolutely amazes me. He builds cars, planes, space ships, etc. My 8 yr old wasn't interested in Legos until he was older and my 5 yr old builds things that are bigger and more intricate too. I like to call him my little engineer. Thank you for the Lego lessons!

This will be an awesome addition to our co-op classes. Thanks!

My boys would create their own castles, robots and more. Now my two younger girls are getting into legos more.

My son Anthony (5 y/o) recently attempted a battle droid out of his daddy's old mismatched legos. It turned out more like a sky scraper theat curved, but in his mind it was a masterpiece!
