My LEGO Gift to You

This post is for the oodles of moms out there dealing with LEGO crazed kids.

I am one of those moms, and when my little boy asked me to teach a LEGO class at our homeschool co-op, how could I refuse?

My son and I spent a lot of time brainstorming and planning this class TOGETHER, and I wanted to share my plans with you.   I am also THRILLED to be offering one of our favorite resources from the class to you in a giveaway!

A little about the class (then you can download the plans and enter the giveaway!)

Most kids just want to BUILD, so this class is designed to give them plenty of time to FREE BUILD creatively with the same set of bricks each week.

We had a "Speed Build" each week

We played games

We had "Theme Weeks" (like Minifig Week and Interlocking Brick Technique Week)

How lucky I am to have a little boy.  Without him I would never have entered this fun and creative LEGO world!

Lego Class Plans

Everything you just saw is available in this free download.   {You MUST get this if you have a LEGO lover in your house!}

Download my plans to teach a 10 Week LEGO Class.

Joy, joy, joy ooooozing from this post! (I love it!) My kids have just recently gotten into Legos. This would be fun for ART after Christmas!

For some reason I am not able to get the Rafflecopter to load. I am hoping this will serve as an entry into your giveaway. What a GREAT video! Legos and the story of Jericho!

My son built Noah's Ark. It turned out fantastic. He loves to build and stage photos. He'd love to get a stop-motion camera too.

Goodness..... I don't know. They tend to build lots of bases for their guys.

But, when I get involved we use them for history, so one time we built the FOuntain of Youth.

We used to be Lego Club before we moved. It was my son's favorite class at co-op.

The kids have built tons of things, but one thing I remember was when my oldest was only four and he had been learning about DNA from his dad, and he built a mars rover out of lego and said it was searching for signs of life in the rocks. He said it would be looking for five different base-pairs, because, he said, Martian life might have extra base-pairs not just the ones human DNA is built out of.

I posted about some of our family's more recent lego projects http://anothersteptotake.blogspot.com/2012/11/outside-lego-box-and-link-up.html

My 5 year old son has really gotten into Legos this year. We also watched the entire Star Wars series this summer together - both of us for the first time! So he loves creating pod racers and other Star Wars vehicles using the Legos he has. My mom kept all my Legos from when I was a kid that we have now given to him. Fun!

My children love to build with legos! They have built everything from cars and boats to houses and castles! I think my favorite of all was one of the castles they built a few months ago. They looked at pictures and tried to duplicate a medieval castle!

We are Lego maniacs! The coolest thing our children have created together was a Pirate's base on "battle island" .

The neatest thing my older son has created is an RV. I was impressed!

Wonderful post and neat giveaway! The most creative thing Joseph has made . . . hmmm. . . he's done an Olympic event training center and lately has been doing his own stop motion animation with Legos - he would love to see this DVD!

It is hard to say which thing are the most interesting that my kids have made. I guess just the things they make are original to them. Crazy cars, planes, buildings and such. they usually come up with some long story as to what they have made.
