Baptism Bible Verse

This week our Bible verse has a very personal meaning. It is the verse that was used at the end of each of our children's baptism ceremonies.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

We are sharing this verse with our children this week because we feel that it is important for them to know that all of their talents come from God, and when they do something "good" it is for God's glory and not their own. This is a hard thing to understand when you are 5 and 9, but one day I know it will sink in. Every year on the anniversary of their baptism we light the candle given to them on this special day and say our special Bible verse.

As I was thinking about the verse I was also remembering their baptisms and what joyous times they were!

My sweet Miss B - so full of promise!

GMan's Baptism - April, 2005 - he was a premature baby with a lot of complications before and after his birth. This was a special day for our whole family!

Mary, thanks for linking this....sweet memories....even sweeter that we were able to enjoy Anna's baptism with you and your family. You blessed us that way and your friendship has pushed me to grow in so many ways over the years...thank you!

BTW...I still think you need to host a link up for some great recipes....especially over the Holidays! I know you have some good ones!

Tell Anna, I am very proud of her! Many Blessings to her...as she hides the Truth in her heart!

Those pictures are precious, and the verse is unforgettable! I love that you're sharing this with them and teaching them about it now!
