Looking For the Positives: Focusing on Little Things That Bring You Joy

Thank goodness I purchased a new container of lovely colored pencils last Sunday afternoon. Not only did they give me that feeling of "new and pretty" (you know what I mean), but they also have provided hours of drawing entertainment for my nine year old. 

It's funny how one little thing - like my colored pencils - can bring such comfort.  

These new pencils are one of my "positives".

(Homeschool) Ignorance is Bliss/The Few Truths You Need to Know

 

Homeschool Ignorance is Bliss

"Not knowing is better than knowing and worrying."

I did NOT know fully about homeschooling when we started; that was a blessing.

Especially because we were coming from nearly four years experience in a public school setting, it's REALLY good I was ignorant. My life was about to be drastically altered, and I had no clue.

I'm not writing this to scare prospective homeschool parents, but rather to say:

Please jump into homeschool with a good amount of faith. Know just enough to get started, but please trust God with the rest

Homeschool Moms Have to Say "No!"

 

"How do you juggle it all?"

In today's society the ability to "juggle it all" is seen as a necessary skill - one to be sought after and often times rewarded.  

I don't know about you, but I stink at juggling. I am forever dropping balls. 

I need margin in my life. I need time and space for my relationship with God, and my relationship with my husband and children.
