Who Let The Homeschoolers Out?

 Sometimes you just have to laugh.

This week a very well meaning person started talking with me about all of the homeschoolers they see "out in the stores" during "regular school hours".  Those poor children! Someone should really take the responsibility of teaching them seriously and just STAY AT HOME SO THEY CAN LEARN.

The Key to Successful Homeschool 

 

The key to accomplishing A LOT in your homeschool is actually staying HOME. 

When my children were younger we were always on the go - fun field trips, park days, and getting out "just because". 

Now that  Anna is in 7th grade, the work is getting HARD (more on her Challenge program in the next few weeks!) and we must stay home the majority of our time to give this beautiful program the justice it deserves.

Braces and First Days of School - Collage Friday

 

We started school Wednesday.

I'd like to say it was a ceremonious day, but it wasn't.

It was a dreary, rainy day. Anna was still a bit sore and crabby from her braces going on Monday, and I had a massive headache.

I'm not calling it our official first day of school - I'm just saying now that we're "easing" into school and when Classical Conversations starts in a couple of weeks we'll have a big celebration.
