  Classical Conversations: 10 Tips to Prevent Being Overwhelemed

Classical Conversations saved my homeschool.

At a time when my middle schooler was struggling with motivation, and I was struggling to keep a very precocious, bright 8 year old boy engaged and challenged, joining our local Classical Conversations community was a God send. 

Using the memory work as our spine and expanding upon the memory work worked well last year. Knowing that my Challenge A daughter's curriculum was fully planned was a huge relief to me.

I could quickly tell, however, that having children at all levels of CC (Foundations, Essentials, and Challenge) was going to be overwhelming. There is just SO MUCH.

Will they go to regular high school?

Before I talk about the one homeschool question that drives me nuts (well, there are many, but this week I have ONE), I have exciting news: Collage Friday is BACK!

Sharing about our homeschool week (or an aspect of our week) on Fridays has been a way for me to personally document the growth in my children - and often myself.

Relax! Encouragement for Parents in Classical Conversations/August 2014 Blog Carnival

 

 Before we begin with the business of the blog carnival, I wanted to take a moment to talk with the CC parents (specifically the Type A mamas -- you know who you are!).

Recently, in a Classical Conversations Facebook group there was a lot of talk about how discouraging Classical Conversations blogs are because there is "no way I could do all of that with my children." Speaking as a blogger, this was disheartening , but as I stepped back to really think about the commenter's heart I believe there are many things that contribute to this attitude.
