Healthy Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie

healthy smoothie

Each morning I have my Shakeology for breakfast.

I have turned around our family's eating habits slowly in the past two months, and I can TELL A DIFFERENCE!

We are looking better, feeling better, and just happier and more energetic.   We aren't eating junk and it feels so good.

I won't lie.   This transition was a little hard for my kids.   I have tried to search out recipes that taste great and are good for them, too.

The Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie is a perfect treat for children (and adults)! It is full of protein and lots of yummy goodness!

My children have requested this for breakfast A LOT.   Normally they drink the shake and are set for a few hours.

Ingredients

1 cup dark chocolate almond milk

1 medium banana

1/4 cup almond butter (you could use peanut butter, too)

1 Tbsp. honey

ice cubes

Directions

Combine everything in your blender and process until you like the consistency.   Pour into glasses and serve.

Wasn't that EASY?

Your children will LOVE you.

Serve it in Mason Jars with fun straws and it can be a fun snack during your day.

*This week's eBook Bundle of The Week is Real Food.   I grabbed this deal because it is 5 wonderful eBooks that will help me make the transition to a healthier family.   All 5 books are just $7.40.

I have a few vegan granola bar recipes that are yummy and healthy. Are you on Pepperplate? If you are, I will email them to you.

Have a nice day!

We woke up extra late today and had breakfast at almost 11 am. So instead of the usual eggs and fruit, I whipped a smoothie too for all of us. Here is the recipe:

1 avocado + 2 frozen bananas in pieces + almond milk + 2 T of chocolate powder

I served it in tall glasses with straws... my kids comments: "This is the best smoothie ever!"; "Can we have this every morning?"; "Can I have more??"; "Dad, Mom made us chocolate smoothie for breakfast. It tasted like chocolate pudding!" This from kids who say they don't like avocado!!! :)

I will share pictures in a future post. :) Yes, smoothies can be quick, easy and extremely healthy and popular with the kids!! :)

Good job persevering! :)

Yummy! Our favourite healthy recipe would have to be our Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies. These are giant soft cookies with only a small handful of chocolate chips. The kids devour them!

We make a similar one, though I've never used almond milk - just regular. I might have to give this a try!
