God's Promises for Boys Giveaway

Each night before bed, just before prayers, I have been reading a very sweet little book to my son.

This book tucks God's promises in his head before he goes to sleep.

He lays so quietly and listens as I read just a tiny bit each evening.   It has come to be my favorite time of the day.

Thomas Nelson Publishing has been blessing our family with books for over a year now.    It is a pleasure to be one of the Top Tommy Nelson Mommies.

Our latest resource is God's Promises for Boys

About the book:

There are 7 short sections to the book:

  •  God's Promises When...
  • God's Promises About...
  • God Wants You To...
  • God's Promises of Help When...
  • God's Promises about Making a Difference
  • God's Promises about Jesus
  • God's Promises for You

Each section is packed full of Bible verses just for your little boy.  The verses are taken from the International Children's Bible.

My son is 8 and it is perfect for him.  I imagine a little one as young as 4 could also benefit.

Our Thoughts:

Having this "bite-size" resource for my son is perfect.   The passages are short, sweet, and easy to digest at night before he goes to bed.

It stays on his dresser, where I can easily refer to it at the end of our day.

I can choose a section that is perfect for what has been going on in our day.  For example, last week one day we were talking a lot about being "mighty" and how little boys should serve their families.    At bedtime I opened up God's Promises for Boys and turned to the  "God Needs Boys" section.

I read Grant this verse:

Then I said, "But Lord God, I don't know how to speak.  I am only a boy."  But the Lord said to me, "Don't say, 'I am only a boy.' You must go everywhere that I send you.  You must say everything I tell you to say.  Don't be afriad of anyone, because I am with you.  I will protect you," says the Lord.  Then the Lord reached out with his hadn and touched my mouth.  He said to me, "See, I am putting my words in your mouth.  Today I have put you in charge of nations and kingdoms.  You will pull up and tear down, destroy and overthrow.  You will build up and plant."  ~ Jeremiah 1: 6-10

There is no greater gift than sharing God's promises with your children.

God's Promises for Boys helps me do just that.

I'm pleased to be able to give away one copy of this book to a reader.

We read Scripture at the dinner table each night and discuss the character of famous missionaries and other famous believers.

Hi! My son and I read through the gospels at night. This looks like a fun resource to add!

This sounds wonderful! My son is 8 and it sounds like something we could really benefit from. We read the Bible and pray together, but unfortunately we've let some of the Bible reading slip by. This post has inspired me to do more with him.

I'm a subscriber by the way. :)

Thank you!

Pray and talk. Communication is so important. You can accomplish a lot with just talking and listening to your kids.

I have already subscribed. The boys and I try to memorize a verse a week. We also attend a weekly community bible study. The boys are studying the same thing I am studying so we get a lot of conversation about it during the week.

Sounds like a great book. We read Bible stories right after breakfast as we start our school day. Right now we are going through Leading Little Ones To God and the Ergermeier Bible.

I am already a subscriber. My children memorize verses each week for Awana. We try to read the Bible daily. We also attend a weekly Bible study group where we each have our own class and they are taught the same lesson as I am but on their own level. I would love to win this book to read with my boys.

Well, we have religious ed every single school day. And when we aren't schooling, we actually still are. Mom and Dad use as many life's moments to apply to what we read or study. I have found oodles of "bite size" books for all our children (I like that term you used!) and my! how fun it is to have those amazing talks after we read a bit from them here and there. God bless!

We read our Bible together and pray.

I am also newly subscribed. I really have a heart for boys. I see that without strong Men we will be doing our girls a great harm. We have been encouraging adventure, giving responsibility with great rewards too. Among the usual Godly talks and love.

We have a Bible verse that we memorize each week. We discuss it all week, practice saying it aloud, and try to do some kind of activity along with it. For example, this week, our verse is "How you created me is wonderful and amazing. I praise you for that." Psalms 139:14. We say it all week and often replace "me" with each child's name. And the older one did a self-portrait to go along with the verse, and we posted that in our everyday display frame by the front door. Thanks for the book suggestion! I am always looking for good resources for boys!

I read Keys 4 Kids to my son. We also do bible stories and crafts while I'm teaching him at home. This book looks like one that he'd be interested in! Thanks for the chance!

I am subscribed. We read Beautiful Bible Stories. It is an older book, but we really love it.

Hi Mary. I follow you on twitter @MyMastersMelody. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have two boys (6 & 8) and a girl (10). The kids have developed a habit of reading the bible each morning and writing a short reflection before breakfast. We share God's word daily through prayers, Psalms and a daily devotional ("Grace for the Moment"). I believe that adding this book to our evening routine would provide a wonderful resource for my husband to share some devotional time with the boys before bed. Any info on great resources like this for girls?
