God's Promises for Boys Giveaway
Each night before bed, just before prayers, I have been reading a very sweet little book to my son.
This book tucks God's promises in his head before he goes to sleep.
He lays so quietly and listens as I read just a tiny bit each evening. It has come to be my favorite time of the day.
Thomas Nelson Publishing has been blessing our family with books for over a year now. It is a pleasure to be one of the Top Tommy Nelson Mommies.
Our latest resource is God's Promises for Boys.
About the book:
There are 7 short sections to the book:
- God's Promises When...
- God's Promises About...
- God Wants You To...
- God's Promises of Help When...
- God's Promises about Making a Difference
- God's Promises about Jesus
- God's Promises for You
Each section is packed full of Bible verses just for your little boy. The verses are taken from the International Children's Bible.
My son is 8 and it is perfect for him. I imagine a little one as young as 4 could also benefit.
Our Thoughts:
Having this "bite-size" resource for my son is perfect. The passages are short, sweet, and easy to digest at night before he goes to bed.
It stays on his dresser, where I can easily refer to it at the end of our day.
I can choose a section that is perfect for what has been going on in our day. For example, last week one day we were talking a lot about being "mighty" and how little boys should serve their families. At bedtime I opened up God's Promises for Boys and turned to the "God Needs Boys" section.
I read Grant this verse:
Then I said, "But Lord God, I don't know how to speak. I am only a boy." But the Lord said to me, "Don't say, 'I am only a boy.' You must go everywhere that I send you. You must say everything I tell you to say. Don't be afriad of anyone, because I am with you. I will protect you," says the Lord. Then the Lord reached out with his hadn and touched my mouth. He said to me, "See, I am putting my words in your mouth. Today I have put you in charge of nations and kingdoms. You will pull up and tear down, destroy and overthrow. You will build up and plant." ~ Jeremiah 1: 6-10
There is no greater gift than sharing God's promises with your children.
God's Promises for Boys helps me do just that.

I have 5 young boys ages 2-9. I love reading books to them about God. I want them all to really know Him as they grow so when they are older they can be confident in sharing about God to others. I would love to win this book!

We homeschool using MFW so we are able to impart God's Word all day even in school! We also try to live out God's word through everyday life.

I already subscribe. Reading God's Word to my son is very important in our house. My son is a gift from God and we want to make sure he is close with his Father in Heaven.
We read scripture every morning and memorize verses together. It's a sweet time for us.
My son and I do a devotion together every morning before school.

We do a daily bible study as part of our homeschool :) but this would be a wonderful way for my husband, who is not a Christian and does reading at night to our son, to read about God and learn more with our son every night.
This book looks wonderful! Would love to win it! We like to read through The Read N' Grow Picture Bible as well as lots of Scripture memory.
We are reading Grace for the Moment. My son loves to memorize scripture so this would be perfect!
I'm already subscribed, of course!
This would be great for my 7 year old son. We already read the Bible and do devotionals together with his sister during school. My daughter is reading Jesus Calling For Kids at bedtime, so it would be great to have this to read to him at bedtime. Thanks!
Two ways...
1. We use Simply Charlotte Mason's "Genesis through Deuteronomy and Ancient Egypt" for explicit instruction.
2. Plus, when I do my own bible study, I read the verses aloud, while my son is doing little boy things in the room, because "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

I help the kids memorize their AWANA verses each week. We're also reading through the Bible together as part of our school time. We're about midway through Exodus right now :-)

I have 2 boys (10 years apart). My older son sits at church with his dad and me on Sundays and goes to youth group on Wednesdays. On Thursday to a Christian Homeschool co-op. These are examples to our younger children about filling your life with Christ!
But on a more regular basis then that, we teach about love, kindness, forgiveness and truth daily. We write memory verses on the storm door (as you come and as you go) with dry erase. We fill our home with Christian music so praise and worship are ongoing! +I love our life!
We read our Bible daily, memorize, scripture and pray together.
I am subscribed! :)
We sing Bible songs together :) I subscribed also. Thank you!
