Get Excited To Learn About God!
I'm so happy to have a voracious reader!
When the UPS man brought this book to our door, you can bet he was reading it soon after we opened the package.
This latest resource brings all of my son's favorite Bible stories to life with a new (and tasteful) twist!
About the Book
Totally Awesome, Super-Cool Bible Stories (as drawn by Nerdy Ned) combines International Children's Bible text with stories and sketches to provide kids a fun walk through the Bible.
My son (age 7) has loved this, and my daughter (age 11) has been sneaking a peak at it, too!
With chapter titles like "Sibling Rivalry: Extreme Edition" (Joseph and his brother) and "Jesus Walks on Water? Rad!", this is sure to keep kids (especially boys) engaged.
The book contains 40 Old Testament stories and 47 New Testament stories, there is a lot of reading material.
Throughout the book, there are also several "Draw Here" pages that encourage your child to be an artist like the author, Nerdy Ned.
Our Thoughts
I'm always cautious about Bible story books for children, because I want to be sure my children are getting the REAL story from their regular Bible.
I was impressed, however, with the accuracy of these stories, and the engaging format.
As my children get older I'm learning that you have to meet them where they are, and Nerdy Ned has certainly done that.
This is a welcome addition to our Bible studies, and just a FUN book that allows my son to be creative with drawing.

You know I teach Sunday School at our church. I have for 5 years. The past few years I have done more and more to incorporate my love of journaling with my students. Every week they make an entry about how God is present in their life. They illustrate and date it. This year we have expanded our entries to include quotations from Mother Teresa and Bible scripture. When they end the year they have a keepsake of how they have grown in their faith.
I would love a copy of this book to use with my own girls and with my class!

My grandson has drawn many pictures inspired by Bible stories. I think it is a great learning tool for children. This book looks awesome!
We are trying to find our place in this homeschooling world and we have been trying to incorporate Bible reading and memory verses daily. My son loves to draw and has been drawing comics with his legos but it would be great to incorporate the Biblical stories in this fashion! Whatever keeps them learning the word of God so that their foundation is set for their life!!
My husband is an illustrator and has worked for Zonderkidz and Willow Creek in the past. His illustrations have inspired my children to be artistic. My son loves to draw and loves to read. We have bought several Bible story books for him and he likes to draw the characters. There is nothing better than a great book with awesome illustrations to inspire a young artist. Thanks for the opportunity to win such a phenomenal book!!
My son has been drawing little angels that look kind of like bats and labeling them with "goly" which is how he thinks "glory" is spelled as we've begun working on learning more about the Christmas story this week :-}
I am sure my kids have been inspired to draw pictures of Bible Stories, probably the most common being the Christmas story. This looks like a great book.
My daughter loves to draw but has rarely drawn a Bible story picture; I think she would love this book and it would really open up her eyes.
My first born son is currently trying to create his first story, complete with cartoon figures. He loves to read and write and draw. This would be a great inspiration to him!
All three of my kids (8 down to 4 yrs.old) draw something Bible related every single day, whether it be in our home Bible study, their free time, Bible class, or during worship. I have found that "notebooking what they read and hear helps them remember so much more.
My 8 year old's homeschool curriculum last year had her draw her Bible Story. She's a good drawer
My kids always had a hard time sitting still in church, so we allowed them to bring a notebook and colored pencils (no markers -- didn't want to chase the caps under the seats!). They always drew along with what we were studying in the service, and I just knew that they were listening along, because they all have a good knowledge of the content of the Bible now. As they drew, we would lean over and write the scripture at the top of their drawing (simplifying the wording, depending on the age of the "artist").
Trevor embellishes his Grapevine Studies with things like animals and people drowning in the distance as Noah sails in the other direction in the Ark... gruesome? Maybe...BUT he is a 10yo boy. ;-)
This looks like an awesome book! Both of my boys recently painted the nativity scene, however, we hadn't read about the birth of Christ yet this season. Joe (8) has drawn scenes from Daniel in the lion's den and things like this. His abilities are limited although getting better as he's enjoying coloring and feeling freedom to draw as he wishes. This would be an awesome addition to our book collection!
My son has, but my daughter isn't much of a drawing person, maybe this would inspire her?
My son has a very sensitive side that he hides often. He wants to be big and cool like his older brother. Every once in a while I get a glimpse of this part of his personality through things he says and does. Today we were writing out Christmas cards for military service members and he asked if he could draw a picture of baby Jesus in the manger on the card. He did a great job and even included Mary, Joseph and the three wise men. He is only seven but I see a great love for the Lord in his spirit.
My little one LOVES to create pictures of everything we study, but especially Bible stories!! Definitely have to check into this book!
I am definately going to get 3 of these! All that I looked at seems Biblically accurate and will really get the kids thinking on their level! Awesome!!
