Welcome to Day 3 in the Ten Days of Reading Aloud!
Yesterday I wrote about how we choose and keep track of read alouds. I offered a free printable and a giveaway, too. If you missed the post, you might want to go back and check it out.
Today I'd like to share some of my favorite posts about reading aloud with you. So much of the encouragement and inspiration to read aloud comes from what I read online. Hopefully you will find some inspiration, too!
I'm sure you don't need evidence to support why reading out loud is good for your children... but there is plenty out there. I also like the following posts because they speak to the HEART of why we NEED to read aloud in our homes:

I'm always on the lookout for read alouds to add to our shelves. I have to admit that bookstores are a huge weakness of mine. I'm also positive I would have more money in the bank if I stopped buying books! Now that my children are getting older I see this, however, was money WELL SPENT. Our home is stocked with wonderful books, that each hold a special place in our hearts.

Sometimes I like to read aloud to my children JUST BECAUSE. It doesn't have to be something we will test on or make a huge project out of. There are times, however, when it's fun and meaningful to follow up with activities from read alouds. Here are some project links:
