What Makes a Good Education? My Guest Post @ Imagination Soup
I've been reading with great interest the posts at Imagination Soup since the beginning of this year. Melissa, the author of the site, is exploring education this month.... What makes a good education? She peaked my interest when she wrote about not wanting to send her daughter back to school after the Christmas holidays.
I am such a passionate believer in education at home. I just had to submit something to her to try to explain why our family chose this path. Much to my surprise, I heard back from her immediately and she wanted to use my article. So - here it is! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
This post is linked to The Homeschool Village.... on Thursdays moms share accomplishments from their week. This week I feel like I accomplished something - achieving my goal of submitting a piece of writing and someone actually liking it! Excellent article! It amazes me how the public schools tend to label children so easily. The thought of putting all of the "challenging" children in a corner together seems ridiculous. If anything, separate them, let the other children be a positive example, and attempt to solve the problem. I am so thankful for homeschooling.
How fun that she contacted you! Your article is so great. I LOVE schooling at home. What a blessing it is to our family! visiting from the homeschool village!
That is a great accomplishment Mary - I know I am so insecure to send out more of my work, having someone contact you is just ridiculously exciting!
thanks for link up (again)!

I'm happy to have found you via Imagination Soup! Great article!!
That's a great article, Mary! Congratulations on getting it published at someone else's site!
I am a certified teacher too, and I was convinced my children would attend public school too. Well, you can guess how that turned out. God spoke to our hearts, and they haven't gone into a school building except when our polling site was located in one!
I love homeschooling too! I am grateful that God led us this direction!
I'm not sure why, but no matter how many times I read people's homeschool stories I am just engrossed in the events that made them take the leap. Great article.
I'm following your blog!

A little late visiting from the HSV linkup!! What a GREAT article! I'm glad for your accomplishment, and am also really glad that you were able to share your story with a broader audience than just your own blog! I hope it will inspire others to give homeschooling some thought!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you everyone for taking the time to read it.... I feel like some homeschoolers who once shared their story with me encouraged me to take the plunge! I want to do that for others. :-)
