Making Our Own Winter Warm-Ups - Cooking Class

Miss B loves when her American Girl magazine arrives in the mail. In the last issue there was the cutest article about fun winter drinks, "Winter Warm-Ups". Yesterday she made one for us. She took the initiative and did it from start to finish. Following directions is such a valuable life skill!

Here's how to make a CREAMY CARAMEL. It was yummy!

Gather your ingredients. You will need hot chocolate mix (or milk and chocolate syrup), caramel syrup, whipped cream, and candy corn.

Make a cup of hot chocolate in the microwave (I just watched while Miss B did all of this.... I love it that she is getting to be so independent.).

Pour 1/2 tablespoon of caramel syrup into the hot chocolate.

Dollop on some whipped cream, drizzle on more caramel sauce, and place a few candy corns on top.

Enjoy!

My oldest daughter was telling me yesterday that she saw someone put candy corn in their hot chocolate. Now I know where she got the idea from! Stopping by from the Hip Homeschool Hop!

I drank one, and it was very sweet!! But, if I sipped it slowly it was really good.... and my daughter loved it. My little guy doesn't like hot things, so she made him chocolate milk with the other stuff on top - I thought it was gross, but he loved it!

It cracks me up that you had all the ingredients on hand! Thanks for posting. I think Paige would love that magazine, so I'll look into it for Christmas.

whip cream - from pumpkin pie
candy corn - leftover from oreo turkeys
hot chocolate - always on hand
caramel sauce - for dipping apples

Why wouldn't I have all those things on hand?!?!

Sounds yum! Is the AG magazine worth getting? My girls would probably love it as they love playing with their dolls.
