Our Favorite LEGO Birthday Present

There is one LEGO resource that is used over and over in our home.

Whenever my son is invited to a birthday party for a child his age, I always ask if the child has this one LEGO treasure.

It just so happens that one of my son's friends turned 9 this past weekend.

Our present choice was EASY. The child likes LEGOS.

This present provides hours upon hours of creative inspiration for any LEGO lover.

It is a springboard for so many great projects, and my son is always excited to share it with his friends.

In fact, I've blogged before about how this book inspires creativity in my son.

The LEGO Ideas Book provides thousands of building ideas.

Some are simple, and some are complex. There's something for everyone.

Each page is laid out to teach, inspire, and delight.

{And for less than $20, this is an affordable present, too.}

Wrap the book, and then print a cute LEGO card to attach. Let your child personalize it on the inside, and you're ready for the birthday party.

And I guarantee you, the birthday child will ENJOY this gift!

As a DK Blogger, I am happy to be able to give away one copy of the LEGO Ideas Book this week!  Please follow the Rafflecopter widget below to enter.

While you're at it, check out all of the wonderful DK books that you can use in your homeschool. We love them, and I'm going to be happily share many with you this year!

*Also be sure to stop by my LEGO Learning page for free printables, reviews, and other goodies.

Currently, my boys are into trying to build their own version of things that were in the last Lego ad that came to the house. This book would be perfect for them!

My kids love to mix and match their mini figures to make different people and then make scenes to put them in. My (almost) 9yr old is REALLY good at following the directions in the manuals and enjoys building the big complex sets. My husband likes to build planes and space crafts.

My daughter loves Legos and this book. She recently had it out of the library for a full 9 weeks (2 renewals). She's 6, and her 2-year-old brother also enjoyed looking at the pics. It likely will be a Christmas present, but it would be great to win one, since it's a bit expensive for us. Good luck to everyone!

My son loves building all sorts of things. He really likes trying to build pod racers from Star Wars, pet stores with some little Lego figures, and just little cities so he can use his little mini figures!

My boys (10 and almost 8) enjoy building all types of transportation vehicles, from boats and ships to cars and trains to planes and spaceships. The younger one really likes to "accessorize" the creation with the appropriate mini-figures, who have names and specific jobs. The older one is even more technical and can often make a Lego creation that looks nearly identical to a photograph in a book or magazine.
